Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! We aim to offer a first appointment within 1 week of initial contact. We will work with you to find a time and date that fits your schedule. The first step is scheduling a complimentary 10-minute phone call where we will briefly review what you are looking for in treatment and a little of your history to see if we might be the right fit for you. If we both agree that it makes sense to move forward, we will schedule an evaluation.

To schedule a phone call, you can give us a call at (781) 226-2959 or click the “Contact Us” button at the top of this page and complete the short form.

  • After scheduling an evaluation you will receive a link to our patient portal, which is the main way we communicate. There you will find paperwork to complete prior to your appointment. At the designated appointment time, we will either meet in-person at my office or for a virtual visit you will click on the Zoom link you received. The goal for the first appointment is to get to know one another and to come up with a treatment plan that makes the most sense for you.

  • We will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan to meet your needs and goals. On average, patients are seen every 1 to 3 months for medication management with brief psychotherapy. Patients can be seen weekly or biweekly as needed for medication adjustments or more intensive psychotherapy.

  • Yes! Patients can be seen anywhere across the state of Massachusetts. All you will need is a quiet space with reliable high speed internet. Our appointments will be conducted through the HIPAA compliant Zoom platform so you will need a device with a camera and you may need to download the Zoom app for your device.

  • Yes! In-office visits in Lexington, MA are available to any patient desiring this option for regular follow-up appointments. In-office visits are also conducted for all patients receiving controlled substance prescriptions at least once a year.

  • Eipper-Mains Psychiatric is not in network with any insurance carriers. Appointments are paid by credit or debit card, and you will be provided a ‘superbill’ to submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if eligible). To help make filing for reimbursement easier, we have paid for a subscription for our patients to use the Reimbursify app, which makes filing for reimbursement fast and easy. Here are links to two helpful articles on out of network treatment: benefits of out of network care and a step-by-step guide to out of network reimbursement.

  • We treat a variety of patients ranging in age from 18 to 65. Our patients are typically highly motivated to make changes, insightful, and engaged in their treatment. Dr. Eipper-Mains has a particular interest in Women’s Mental Health and provides preconception medication consultations as well as ongoing care through pregnancy and postpartum. She also works with women going through perimenopause and menopause, periods which can both cause a great deal of emotional upheaval.

  • Eipper-Mains Psychiatric does not treat patients who self-harm, have had recent suicide attempts, have active disordered eating, psychotic disorders, struggle with substance abuse, or have had recent inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations. We believe these patients are better served within practices that can provide 24/7 coverage. We can help point you towards such practices if needed.

  • Treatment fees are commensurate with Dr. Eipper-Mains’ level of training and experience. Fees are comparable with other private practice physicians working in our location. Please get in touch using our short contact form to learn more.
